PRIME MINISTER’S PACKAGE

  1. Hon’ble Prime Minster during his visit to Arunachal Pradesh from 31st January to 1st February’ 2008 has announced some development projects. 500 small settlements to be connected by roads under Bharat Nirman is one of the projects announced by Hon’ble Prime Minster. The Rural Works Department, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, who is the nodal agency, for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is also responsible for execution of the road connectivity to 513 settlements with a road length of 2880 Km under the PM’s package. The key timeline for implementation of the project is given below

  2. The survey and investigation to provide connectivity to 98 habitations is in progress and the DPRs are likely to be submitted by October,2008 to the Ministry of Rural Development for consideration. 
  3. Detailed Project Report for 26 habitations in Border Blocks under PM’s package submitted to the Minister of Rural Development has already been agreed on 24th July’2008 in the Empowered Committee meeting for Ph-VII PMGSY proposals. Approval has been received communicated by the ministry on 1st August’2008. The technical sanction is in process and tendering may be done in first week of September’2008. List of the schemes may be seen vide Annexure-  I

CENTRAL ASSISTANCE FOR UNFINISHED PROJECT

An amount of Rs. 30.36 crores has been allocated to completed the unfinished schemes under Rural Works Department. Out of this Rs. 10.22 crores is provided for PMGSY bridge projects to establish connectivity under Bharat Nirman. In first phase an amount of Rs. 10.36 cr has been allocated and the work is in progress to complete the identified schemes under Phase-I by September’2008.
